Gladys E. Searfoss, age 76, of Harveys Lake, passed away Monday, Oct. 6, 2025.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 4, 1948, and was the daughter of the late William H. and Elsie K. Jones.
Gladys graduated from Dallas High School, Class of 1966. She worked for the Dallas Post before getting married to her husband, Richard. Gladys later earned her degree as a medical assistant working in a doctor's office until her retirement. She loved baking, decorating and entertaining her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Conrad Higgins and William D. Jones.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard; daughter, Jeri Close and her husband, Daniel; brother, Jerome Jones and his wife, Sally; sister, Heather Jones; stepson, James Searfoss; stepdaughters, Deborah Blockus and Doreen Koshinski and her husband, Eugene; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Rev. L.D. Reed of the Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, Harveys Lake, officiating.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Kocher Cemetery, Lake Township.
