Jennifer Giannuzzi of Dallas, Pa., passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, under the compassionate care and kindness of Sacred Heart Hospice.
During her final days, she was surrounded by the comfort and loving presence of her many friends and the tender embrace of her family.
Born 51 years ago in Washington, D.C., Jennifer grew up in Alexandria, Va., the daughter of Maryellen Donnelly Giannuzzi and the late Vito A. Giannuzzi, MD. She pursued her education at Radford College and George Mason University before relocating to Pennsylvania. Together with her late husband, Richard Presto, Jennifer owned the restaurant "Bistro on the Ave." in Kingston, Pa., for many years. It was there that her warmth and charm were as cherished as the delicious meals they served.
Jennifer made many memories with her friends and family, and found peace and joy during her stays in Stone Harbor, N.J., and the Outer Banks, N.C. She adored her beautiful nieces and each Facetime call brought a smile to her face when listening to their daily updates.
Jennifer is survived by her mother, Maryellen Giannuzzi; her brother, John Michael Giannuzzi (Molly); her nieces, Caroline and Elizabeth; her devoted cousin, Angela DeVito; her stepchildren: Richard, Daniel and Sara Presto; her stepmother, Betsy Giannuzzi; stepsisters, Lynley Walsh (Nick), Lauren Walsh (Brian) and Kristen Intellini Piper (Brian); and numerous relatives in New York, Pennsylvania and around the country.
She also leaves behind a loyal group of friends whose lives were enriched by her love and laughter.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Martin Hyzinski and his dedicated and caring oncology team.
A celebration of Jennifer's beautiful life will be held later this year. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to consider a donation to Sacred Heart Hospice at 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.
A Mass will be held to honor her life at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 31, in Immaculate Conception Church of the Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston. Friends are invited to gather from noon to service time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to and are under the care and direction of Vanston and James Funeral Home, Scranton.

It is with great shock and sadness to learn of Jennifer´s passing... a great friend always positive. Great sense of humor knew how to run a restaurant as well as to be kind, compassionate, and caring to others... selfless to the end, she would never think of herself she always brought a smile to our face and always glad to share a good joke or two to make everybody feel good... it is with no doubt that she´s probably running the kitchen in heaven now telling them how to prepare and serve everybody who´s there... she will be greatly missed, but her smile and warmth will always live in our hearts & memories.
