Joan McDaniels Obituary
Joan McDaniels, of Edwardsville, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Helen Fischer Devlin Sr., and she resided in Edwardsville for the past 35 years. She was a member of Holy Family Parish in Luzerne, was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist School in Pittston, and was retired from the Lackawanna Mobile X-Ray in Dunmore. Joan was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 35 years, Leroy Jr., of Edwardsville; daughter, Stephanie and son-in-law Mathew Poorman, of Drums; and daughter, Colleen, of Larksville. She was blessed with two granddaughters, Aileen and Sidney, of Larksville. She is survived by brothers, Peter Devlin Jr., and wife, Cheryl, of Colorado, and Robert Devlin and wife, Diane, of Suscon. Also surviving are nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Church, Bennett Street, Luzerne. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville. Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Aunt Joan was an incredible woman. She was one of the most loving, caring and outgoign woman you could think of. She was always there for everyone and was always everyones "mom". She will be greatly missed and never forgotten in my heart and mind.
