SWOYERSVILLE — John E.T. Elick, 90, of Swoyersville, died on Sunday, March 25, 2018, surrounded by family at Riverstreet Manor, Wilkes-Barre.
John was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 27, 1927, the son of the late Frank and Helen Wassack Elick. He graduated from GAR High School, class of 1945.
John joined the U.S. Army in 1946. He continued his service to country by working for the Central Intelligence Agency, Washington, D.C. John attended King's College and was last employed as an accountant for 27 years with Evans King Floral. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville. He was active with Little League baseball, as well as the St. Mary's Holy Name Society.
John is preceded in death by his loving wife, Isabelle Burke Elick; brother, Frank; and grandson, Johnathan.
He is survived by his sons, John and wife, Elizabeth, of Swoyersville; and Mike and wife, Christine, of Forty Fort.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Frank and Dorothea Henry Cancer Center for their compassionate and professional care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018. Interment will be held with Military Honors at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Viewing will be held at the convenience of the family at the Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
Memorial donations can be made to SPCA.
