WILKES-BARRE — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, John Nalepa, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the age of 63.
John was a graduate of GAR High School and was employed at Quinn's Market, and later at Inter-Metro, where he retired. John enjoyed the simple things in life. He followed his mother and father's passion for cooking, gardening (especially tomatoes), picking popinki mushrooms and all things Polish. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting and he was a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. But most of all, he loved and adored his son, John.
He is survived by his son, John, Wilkes-Barre; his sisters: Denise Krenistsky, Davie, Fla.; and Janice (Joe) Basta, Drums, Pa.; and nieces and nephews: Jeffrey, Amanda, Ashley and Anna Krenitsky; and Nicole Basta. Also surviving John is his partner, Carolyn Bullock Branch, who brought much care and joy into his life these last few years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Alfreda Choinski Nalepa; and his best friend and brother, Rod Taylor. May they ride the coastal roads of paradise together.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, in Jendrejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Burial will follow in St. Mary of the Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming, Pa.
