MOUNTAIN TOP — Joseph A. Chado, Jr. 65, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully Sunday Jan. 23, 2022, at his home in his favorite chair, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Joseph and Lois Chado.
He graduated from Bishop Hoban High School in 1974 and was a faithful member of St. Jude's Church. Joe started his hard working career as a paperboy followed by helping build the power plant. That lead to his lifetime career of roofing. He worked with A.J. Roofing until he became ill. Joe was known for working his side jobs, going to Steelers games with family and friends, and cheering for the Phillies "even if they always blow it." He enjoyed and played the game of darts in various leagues, sometimes four times a week, while teaching his daughters and others to enjoy it too. Last but not least Joe loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Susan; daughters: Katie and husband Jeff, and Amy; grandchildren: Emma and Gabriel (who lived with him); brothers: Bern and wife Sharon, John and wife Kelly, Andrew and wife Dianna; sisters: Margaret and husband Dick, Catherine and husband Jeremy; and not to be forgotten is his fiery companion Lily. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude's Church. Interment will follow in Albert Cemetery. Friends may call on 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McCune Funeral Home.

There is no greater sorrow than to lose someone so dear. He was a wonderful friend and was always there for his friends and relatives.

My sympathies to Andy, also brothers John, Bernie, and the rest of family, for their loss. I went to school with Andy, and remember all the Chado brothers. Joe did a roof estimate for me once, he was a stand up guy, like all the Chados. I'm sorry your loss, and that I missed this wake. RIP Joe. regards- Charles Nudo

I am so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He helped me out several types with roofing issues and was always quick to respond to my calls. He was such a great guy; hard working, honest and fair. Both of us having grown up in Mountaintop, our conversations always ended up talking about the good old days at St. Jude's. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
