Joseph Dorbad Obituary

J oseph F. Dorbad Sr., 80, of Exeter, passed away Sunday evening in Kindred Hospital Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Pittston on November 26, 1925, he was a son of the late George and Elizabeth Baker Dorbad. He graduated from Pittston High School and attended King’s College. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge.
Mr. Dorbad was a member of the Plains American Legion, the Dupont V.F.W. and St. Mary’s Assumption Church, Pittston. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a Greyhound bus driver.
He was preceded in death was his wife, the former Julia Parulis, in 1996; brother George Dorbad; and sister Mary Sitkowski.
Surviving are sons Joseph and his wife, Karen, Dupont; and Michael and his wife, Sue, Exeter; grandchildren Joseph, Stevie Lynn, Michael and David; brother Robert, Virginia; sister Joan James, Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Avenue, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Assumption Church, Pittston.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Hughestown. Friends may call today, June 27, 2006, from 5 to 8 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to [email protected] .
