DORRANCE TWP. — Joshua Charles Haydt, 23, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in the afternoon of July 2, 2024.
Born May 21, 2001, he was the second of three sons of Harry P. Haydt, and Patricia (Myers) Haydt. He loved his life on the family farm in Dorrance Township, where you would often find him fishing, hunting with his dad, or playing cards in the shade of the back porch. He never turned down the chance for adventure, taking road trips to places like Niagara Falls and Disney World and cruises to the Caribbean.
During the summers, he loved to camp at Moyers Grove Campground with his family and friends.
He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was an honorary member of the Crestwood High School football team. He graduated from Crestwood in 2019, accompanied by his nurse and best friend, Jenn Malet.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo Haydt of Dorrance, and Charles and Elizabeth Myers of Ashley.
Left to honor his memory are parents, Harry P. Haydt and Patricia M. Haydt; brothers: Harry and Thomas Haydt; grandmother, Jean Haydt, of Dorrance; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joshua loved, and was loved by all of his family, and the close friends of Joshua became family to him. He loved deeply and cherished all of those he loved.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
