Leonard A. Harding

Leonard A. Harding, 91, formerly of Plainsville, Pa., died Friday, August 17, 2007, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Plains Township, he was a son of the late Joseph K. and Margaret (Landsidel) Harding. He was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School.
He had been employed at the former Acme Bakery, Race Street, Wilkes-Barre, for most of his life and retired when it was closed.
He was an avid fisherman and participated in that hobby whenever possible.
He was a member of the Plains United Methodist Church and had been active in the dart league many years ago. He was also a member of the Bakers and Confectionery Workers Union, Wilkes-Barre.
He was preceded in death by son, Robert Harding; brothers, Merritt, Claude R. and Raymond C. Harding; sister, Mrs. Emma Atkinson.
He is survived by son, Ralph Harding, of Exeter; daughter, Mrs. Nancy Mills, of Sacramento, Calif.; grandsons, Michael Mills and Mark Pedrick; great-grandson, Samuel Pedrick; brothers, Arthur W. Harding, of Manalapan, N.J. and Walter Harding, of Kingston; sisters, Mrs. Martha Atkinson, of Plainsville and Mrs. Alberta Earley, of South River, N.J.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Barbara J. Roberts, pastor, Plains United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
