Leonard Smith Obituary
HUNLOCK CREEK — Leonard H. Smith, 77, of Hunlock Creek, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 8, 1944, Leonard was the son of the late Maurice and Freda Johnson Smith.
Leonard met Bernadine when they were 15 years old. They were happily married from age 20 until Bernadine's passing in 2001.
Leonard joined the army at age 18, after which he worked proudly as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine; sisters, Pauline Yaskulski, Freda Smith, Jeanette Jones, Caroline Meck and Joan Giberson; and brothers, Maurice, Donald, Robert and John.
Surviving are his son, Leonard (Thai); nephew, Michael (Kasey); companion, Joyce; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke. Interment will be in Slocum Cemetery.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
