FRANKLIN TWP. — Linda L. (Maro) Hoover, 72, of Franklin Township, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at Allied Services Wilkes-Barre Hospice Center.
She was born in Factoryville to the late Angelo and June Malott Maro. After graduating from Lackawanna Trail High School in 1971, Linda was a bookkeeper for various businesses and organizations in the greater Scranton area, before retiring to spread her love as a homemaker to her family. In addition, Linda volunteered her time for over 40 years at Elm Park United Methodist Church.
Linda touched the lives of many with her enormous heart, selflessly offering a helping hand to anyone in need of support, and a shoulder to lean on. She adored music of all kinds, football games, and fresh-cut flowers. Linda loved her family, friends, cats and dogs, and her community, and never hesitated to share kind words with a passerby. Linda exemplified the words in Carole King's "Beautiful":
"You've got to get up every morning
"With a smile on your face
"And show the world all the love in your heart."
She will be deeply missed by all.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold; and sister, Debbie DiCindio.
She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Hoover, of Philadelphia; and Eric Hoover, of Dallas; her sister, Judy (Harold) Wech; and many beloved, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Linda will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Metcalfe Shaver Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Perrins Marsh Cemetery, Center Moreland.
