NANTICOKE — Lorraine F. Szot, 86, of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born Oct. 11, 1931, in Newport Township, Nanticoke, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Caroline Berjewski. Lorraine attended Newport School and helped run her family business, the Miners Cafe, in Nanticoke.
Lorraine was a devoted mother and housewife. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and now St. Faustina Parish. She also belonged to the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 350, Nanticoke.
Lorraine was preceded in death by a son, Michael Szot.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Chester A. Szot; son, Mark Szot; and grandsons, Mark Szot Jr. and Christian Szot.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1 p.m. Saturday at the main site of St. Faustina Parish, Hanover Street, Nanticoke. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Lorraine will be laid to rest in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Nanticoke.

sorry for your loss. she was a sweet lady. when my uncle Bernard Augustine would come in from Maryland he would always make it a point to visit her and her husband Chet and would take me with him. Rest in Peace.
