I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Mae. A year plus later and I have just found out. I have spoken to Mae many, many times over the years. I wrote a book about the Syrians on the Titanic and through Mae I was able to capture the horrors of the disaster from the eyes of her mother, both mentally and physically. Mae was always ready to answer any questions I had. From the 1912 Arabic sources I was able to tell her how her mother and brother's names appeared along with her uncle in Arabic newspapers, how her father went directly to NY to find his wife and son. Any letter I wrote her, she answered, trying to respond to whatever she could. She was intelligent and caring and energetic. She has left me with good memories of a daughter who cared for her mother and wanted her mother's story told. Allah yarhamha. Memory eternal.

Sad to see a fine Lady from old downtown W-B Zimmermens Exclusive Ladies Dress Store pass away. I worked across the street at Bonds men's Clothing. We were neighbors. RIP

I remember Mae, I bought many dresses from her in the midtown village store, such a lovely and kind woman. My sympathy to her family.
