Marceline Tedrow Obituary

Marceline Lavae Tedrow, age 90, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.

The former Marceline Lavae Jensen was born in Moscow, Minn., on Oct. 28, 1927, to Bert and Agnes Jensen. Her childhood home was located next to the Moscow Creamery where her father was the butter-maker. She attended a rural school in Moscow through the eighth grade, and high school in Austin, Minn. Following graduation from high school, Marceline worked for the Austin City engineering department.

Marceline was united in marriage to Charles E. Tedrow on Oct. 1, 1949. The couple would go on to reside in Austin, Minn.; La Crosse, Wis.; Ames, Iowa; Freeport, Ill.; Jamestown, N.Y.; and Forty Fort.

Marceline was an avid quilter and spent one day a week with her local quilting group. She also enjoyed gardening and Danish embroidery. She was co-founder, along with her husband, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Lewis, of Chuck's Auction Service. She continued to be a fixture at the family business, where she could be found working to set up during the week and clerking during the weekly auctions. She was a longtime member of the Forty Fort Presbyterian Church.

Marceline is survived by her children, Linda Lewis (Jim), Mark Tedrow (Susan) and Barbara Dougherty (Bob); twin sister, Marilyn Cook (Steve); grandsons Corey Lewis, Matthew and Ryan Dougherty, Charlie, Jonathan and Christopher Tedrow; and great-grandchildren Violet and Milo Dougherty, Kingsley and Emerson Dougherty. Marceline is preceded in death by her husband Charles and her sister Virginia Griffin.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Hugh B. Hughes Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, with Rev. William Lukesh, of Forty Fort Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Family and friends are asked to call at the funeral home from 3 to 4 p.m.
