Marcelle Lakkis Obituary

BEAR CREEK — Marcelle M. Lakkis, of Old East End Blvd., Bear Creek, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born June 9, 1951, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of Azzize Peter and the late Simon Peter. She was a graduate of GAR High School, Class of 1969, and was formerly employed by Trion Industries, Wilkes-Barre.

Marcelle devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, and was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She loved the color green, turquoise jewelry and listening to Elvis Presley.

She was a member of St. Anthony/St. George Maronite Church, Wilkes-Barre.

She is survived by sons, Chady Lakkis Peabody, of Massachusetts, and Naji Lakkis Springfield, of Virginia; daughter, Ramonda Lakkis, of Bear Creek; grandchildren, Gabrielle Lakkis, Gregory Holland, Olivia Lakkis, and Cassidy Lakkis; brother, Simon and his wife, Frances Peter, of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Michelle and her husband, Richard Weinstock, of Jenkins Township; nephews, Richard Weinstock and Simon Peter; and niece, Rebecca Weinstock.

Funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Maronite Church, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
