Margaret "Peggy" Grivner, 80, of Exeter, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 20, 2025, at her home.
Born in Exeter in 1945, Peggy was the daughter of the late Louis and Ann Cerza Gadello.
A lifelong resident of Exeter, she was proud of her roots and the community she called home.
She graduated from Exeter High School and later attended Wilkes-Barre Business College.
In 1966, Peggy married the love of her life, Edward Grivner. Together, they shared many wonderful years raising their family. Peggy worked as a bank teller before dedicating herself to raising her children. Later, she returned to the workforce, where she was a familiar and friendly face to many as a waitress at the Nook and, most recently, Tony's Pizza.
Peggy will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to family and the kindness she shared with everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, and her grandchildren, Abigail and Cito.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her companion, Sam Gallo; her sons, Edward and his wife, Lori Albrecht, Oreland; and Michael and his wife, Lillian, West Pittston; her daughter, Ann Marie; and her sister, Camille Carroll and her husband Sean, West Pittston. Peggy was also blessed with several grandchildren, Alyssa, Adam, Antonio, Christopher, Andrew, and Aiana, Heather, TJ and Emily, as well as one great-grandson, Austin.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A funeral will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church (Corpus Christi Parish), 224 Memorial St., Exeter. The Rev. Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., will be celebrant.
