Marie Williams Obituary
WYOMING — Marie T. (Pisano) Williams, 75, of Wyoming, passed away Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2021, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Ann (Barone) Pisano Sr.
Marie was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the band, playing the flute, and also a member of the field hockey team. A woman of great faith, Marie was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre, until its closure and merger with St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was employed at Planters Peanuts, Wilkes-Barre, as an office worker, at various Wilkes-Barre Area schools as a lunch lady and last at The Times Leader until her retirement.
Marie had a great love of cats, and a love of shopping at Walmart and Schiel's Family Market.
She was preceded in death by her brother Phillip J. Pisano Jr.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, William Williams; sons Rick Williams and his wife Kelly, of Wyoming, and Andrew Williams and his wife Kim, of Drums; grandchildren Brandon, Kendall, and Mason Williams; sisters Rita Doherty, of Massachusetts, and Patricia Culver, of Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2021, from the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains, PA 18705, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701, with Father Joseph Verespy, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday evening, March 3, 2021, at the funeral home. Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place. Those attending the visitation, we ask that you be brief when paying your respects, please follow the practice of social distancing, and masks are required at all times at the funeral home, church and cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Church in Marie's name.
