Mary Federici

Mary Federici, 91, of Italy Street, Mocanaqua, died Thursday morning, June 17, 2010, in the Heritage House in Wilkes-Barre. Born March 13, 1919, in Mocanaqua, she was a daughter of the late Sobastian and Anna (Glod) Olshefski. Mrs. Federici was employed by the former Country Cousins Shoe Factory in Mocanaqua until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua, as well as the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Americo "Toby" Federici, who died May 1, 1986; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Federici, who died in 2003; and her brothers, John, Frank, Andrew and Joseph Olshefski. Surviving are her two sons, Thomas and his wife, Sandra, of Mocanaqua, and Joseph and his wife, Becky, of Shickshinny; two grandchildren, Scott Federici of Heightstown, N.J., and Tracey Prince of Hanesport, N.J.; and six great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alexandria, Olivia and Isabella Federici, and Angelo and Dominick Prince. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua, with her pastor, the Rev. Stephen Krawontka, as celebrant. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
