Mary Perry Obituary

CLARKS SUMMIT — Mary Lou Perry, 72, of Clarks Summit, died Tuesday morning, April 29, 2014, in Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Isabelle Murray.

She was a graduate of Marywood Seminary High School, Scranton, and earned her nursing degree from Penn State University.

Mary Lou worked as a local realtor from many years and prior to her retirement was employed as a nurse at a local hospital.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Church, Clarks Summit.

Mary Lou was a loving person who enjoyed spending time at Lake Winola and trips to the beach. She also spent her time volunteering at the St. Joseph's Festival. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are two sons, Mark Eckersley and his wife, Lori, Clarks Summit, and Brant Eckersley and his companion, Tamara, Virginia; a daughter, Peir Serota and her husband, Jeff, California; six grandchildren, Evan, Brad, Ryan, and Tyler Eckersley and Roen and Race Serota; a sister and best friend, Gloria McHugh and her husband, Joseph, Clarks Green; and several nieces and nephews.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Commonwealth Hospice at Regional Hospital and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

A memorial Mass was held from the church of St. Benedict, Newton Ransom Blvd., Clarks Summit. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Drive, Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit.
