KINGSTON — Michael Peter Demko Jr., 79, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Residential Hospice Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Demko III, and son, Jeffery Demko and his wife, Kate McMahon, his grandchildren Nick Kurutz, Amanda Kurutz, Billy Demko and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Rosalie Muroski and Barbara Garcia, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In civilian life, Michael worked in the banking industry for over 30 years, being employed at both United Penn Bank and Mellon Bank as a VP of Marketing and as an Operations Manager at Penn East Federal Credit Union. He loved to drive, so following his retirement from banking, he was employed by Martz Bus Company and then worked part-time as a floral supplies delivery person for Gallagher's Flower Warehouse in Plains.
The Catholic church was an important part of Michael's life. He was an active member of St. Ignatius Church and St. Ann's Chapel, Kingston, ushering at Sunday morning Mass. Michael also served as President of the Holy Name Society.
Michael was also an avid sports fan, and enjoyed football (Go BEARS!), baseball, golf or any live televised sporting event.

Pat, My prayers are for Mike and my condolences to you and the Family with Mike's passing. Many fond memories fleeted across my mind as I recollected our days as "Queensmen" when we were together. I think we all "drank from the same canteen" back then and still, it never left us. We'll meet again someway, someday. Semper Fi, Bob

Patsy, the best thing that can be said of another man is that he is/was a 'good' man. And that Mike was. I was very happy when the two of you decided to partner together for life. Now I am totally in awe of the number of sons and daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren that this union of two beautiful friends brought about. And though it has been the longest while since I've seen you in person, my memories are still fresh of you always being in the same classroom with me
from Mrs. McCarthy's 1st grade class at Loveland St. School through our senior year.
