WILKES-BARRE — Michael Paul Goman Sr., 68, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Michael was born in Wilkes-Barre, the son of the late Michael P. and Mary Halapi Goman. He was a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre. He was formerly employed as an automotive mechanic.
Michael was a member of the Meade Street Baptist Church in Wilkes-Barre. He loved camping and fishing. He had a very special bond with his dear pup, Hershey. Michael's generosity was unmatched. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He was an enthusiastic storyteller, and he adored those who would listen. Michael was the most thoughtful, caring and loving husband, father and friend that anyone could ask for.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Helen A. Jones Goman, in 2010; sisters: Dolores Yanchulis, Joan Casterline and Mary Ann Skasko Jones; and brother-in-law: Donald Shea.
Surviving are his children: Jennifer Mary Goman, of Wilkes-Barre, and Michael Paul Goman Jr. and his wife Amanda, of Nanticoke; sister: Arlene Shea, of Wilkes-Barre; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday evening from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. His Pastor, Chester Dudick, will officiate.
Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Michael's name to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612, or to Mureille's Place — A Senior Dog Sanctuary, 533 Creek Road, Wapwallopen, PA 18660.
