Michael E. Haduck, 76, of Pittston, entered into eternal life at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006.
Born Sept. 18, 1929, in Duryea, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Zambuski) Haduck. Michael was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1941. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, of which one year was served in the Korean War.
He worked two years at the U.S. Naval Receiving Station, Washington, D.C. Michael was awarded the following medals: Korean Service Medal, Navy Occupation Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as postal carrier for Pittston post office prior to his retirement in 1986.
He also retired from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board and was a member of National Association of Letter Carriers. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Port Griffith. Michael enjoyed being an active member of the Polish American Citizens Club; honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, Pittston Council 372; Pittston VFW and Amvets, who will perform his military service.
Michael loved tending to his huge garden every summer and grew the best tomatoes.
His loving wife of 41 years, Jean (Waseleski) Haduck, preceded Michael to eternal rest in 1998. He is also preceded by his brother Stanley Haduck; sister, Victoria Sankus; brothers Edward Haddock and Anthony Haduck.
Surviving are his three children, Michael Haduck, Virginia; Patrick Haduck, New Jersey; Karen Williams, Mississippi; five grandchildren, Chris, Andrew, Kyle, Amanda and Dana.
He is also survived by his three sisters, Mrs. Frances Jones, Duryea; Mrs. Veronica Winslow, Duryea; and Mrs. Louise Chernefski, Moosic; and his one brother, Paul Haddock, Avoca.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Graziano Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Pittston Blvd., Pittston Township, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s R.C Church, Port Griffith, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, Pa.
