Father Mike is dearly remembered by the Byzantine Catholic students at Penn State University (University Park) in the early 1990s, to whom he unselfishly and faithfully ministered every Sunday of the school year and every Wednesday night during the Great Fast, adding essentially a third parish to his far-flung territory, and driving long distances that had kept many a younger priest away. May his reward be great in Heaven, and his memory be eternal! Vicnaja mu pamjat'! Christos voskrese!

Fr Mike--

I don't believe we've ever met but the closeness we have had over the years since my dad Peter Mokris, Michael Mokris and John Mokris (cousins) spoke of you defined us too as family. It was that family thing that made you special for me from within, bringing us together if only through a brief phone call or a letter or a card over the years. These memories and kept notes I will hold on to. You were in my thoughts and prayers especially holidays and birthdays. You have inspired me as well as many others throughout life and your special calling spreading Gods word will truly be missed. My prayers go out to you but I know you are with God already and all your family gone before you. I am forever grateful to have known you. God has taken you from us but has given you life in a better place. In God's eyes you were the messenger - in my eyes you were special and proud to have as a part of my family. I will miss you forever.
