Nancy Yurko

Nancy Rogers Yurko, 56, of Exeter, formerly of Towanda, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, at the University Hospital in Philadelphia, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Sayre, Pa., February 15, 1951, Nancy was the daughter of Patricia (French) Rogers and the late Elwood Rogers. She graduated from Towanda Area High School in 1969. Nancy was a 30-year employee of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and was a member of the Universalist Church, Towanda.
Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and love she had for others, but most of all for the loving wife she was to her beloved husband, Mark.
Nancy was in Philadelphia to receive a liver/kidney transplant and had the greatest respect for the “Donate an Organ” program. Although she had a rare blood type, she was positive to the end that she was going to receive the organs she needed. Time did not allow for that. The message she would want to get out to the public would be, “Please be an organ donor. Give so others may live!”
Nancy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Guy and Alice French, and Charles and Lena Rogers; aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Yurko; mother Patricia Rogers of Fla.; sister Debbie Satcher of Fla.; brothers Charles (Chipper) and his wife, Mary Lou Rogers, of Towanda, and Frank and his wife, Pat Yurko, of Harding; several nieces and nephews.
At Nancy’s request , there will be no calling hours or funeral. Arrangements are by Auer Memorial Home and Cremation Services Inc., Harrisburg, Pa.
