Patrick Donahue Obituary

Patrick Donahue (Dec. 9, 1949 to Aug. 6, 2017), affectionately known to family and friends as Pat, Duke, Patsy, Donnybrook, Governor and the Big Bunny, just to name a few, died at home with family and friends after a valiant and dignified battle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). He was just 67 years old.

A bon vivant with a generous and caring nature, Pat was born as an identical twin to Grace and the late Raymond Donahue in Pittston. Pat graduated from East Stroudsburg University and, as a natural entrepreneur, he opened a gourmet cheese shop before pursuing a career in sales.

Pat traveled the world and spent an extensive amount of time in Asia and Australia for business. In 1999, he started his own company, Innovative Catalyst Group. Pat cultivated incredible friendships and lived a full and rich life, albeit too short. The outpouring of love and support he received from friends and family during his life and especially during his illness was remarkable.

He is survived by his beloved partner and wife of 21 years, Stacey; his loving mother, Grace; his "other half," twin brother, Michael (Barbara); his big sister, Sharon (partner Frank); his nephew and godson, Mike and his special "girl," Annie D.

Now in heaven having a scotch with his father Ray and his brothers, Jay and Philip, he will be dearly missed by all who loved him and remembered for his love of a good party.

A visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at Halsted N. Gray – Carew & English Funeral Home, 1123 Sutter St., San Francisco, Calif., followed by a funeral Mass at 2 p.m. at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, 2390 Bush St., San Francisco, Calif.; interment in Pittston.

In lieu of flowers, send donations in Pat's memory to CurePSP, 30 E. Padonia Road, Suite 201, Timonium, MD 21093; www.psp.org.

My parents were good friends of the Donohues and all of us kids played together often. I remember Pat and Mike as little boys, always with a smile and usually "up to something". My brothers, sister and I send our condolences to Pat's family. Having lost our brother, Bob, in November 2015, we understand the pain losing a sibling brings. Dance with the Angels, Patrick! Love, Christy, Dane, Paul and Becky (Phillips)

Patrick was a rare man of smart, 'in the moment,' good natured humor, and raucous enjoyment shared with everyone when he felt the occasion needed it. To live life to the fullest without apology, to stand by friends and family at the drop of a hat...and to be willing to go anywhere, at any moment, because his world view required him to... is a special gift of such rare character.

Thank you Patrick for your many gifts of joy, and enthusiastic, determined human spirit. Stacey helped him complete these gifts. God blessed you with her in this life. May he now give her comfort and wonderful memories ...and you a full eternal life of peace, and happiness in his heavenly kingdom as you wait for her to join you in the next life.
