MOUNTAIN TOP — Raymond Gulczynski, of Mountain Top, entered into the arms of the Lord on May 16, 2024. Born Feb. 11, 1945 in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Raymond Gulczynski Sr. and Jane Zalewski Gulczynski. Preceding him in death was his beloved wife of 50 years, Justine Sapp Gulczynski.
Raymond was educated at MaryMount in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. After schooling, he worked at his family's excavation business. Thereafter, he was employed as a proud bus driver for more than 40 years at Martz, Autobus and LCTA. Raymond enjoyed speaking and telling stories of his adventures incurred on the road. This position suited him well, as he was a passionate talker to anyone and everyone. He had an unparalleled ability to light up the room with his words, stories and most notably, his infectious laughter.
After his retirement, Raymond enjoyed keeping himself busy. He worked part-time at Mohegan Sun Casino with security. He enjoyed being a handyman, chopping wood, helping neighbors and friends with projects. He loved listening to polka music and dancing. Raymond loved his tractors, quad riding, and the outdoors. He started his own lawn care business in his later years.
He loved vacationing, fishing on his boat, and enjoying the beach with family and friends. Raymond was a family man and cherished his children and especially his four grandsons.
Raymond was a lifelong and devoted member of Our Lady of Hope parish in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. Surviving are his two daughters, Renee Eyerman (and husband, Scott) of Mountain Top; Kristen Reznak (and husband, William) also of Mountain Top.
Raymond was a Pop-Pop to four grandsons, whom he loved and adored with affectionate. This includes, Corey Eyerman (and girlfriend, Megan Michael); Alexander and Nicholas Brisk, and Liam Reznak. He will be sadly missed by his family. Also surviving includes several nieces and nepews.
Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at McCune Funeral Home in Mountain Top on Wednesday, May 22. The funeral will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Hope parish in Wilkes-Barre with Fr. John Terry presiding. Interment will be at Fern Knoll in Dallas, Pa.

Raymond was a positive person in my childhood. He was my cousin and lived with us when I was very young. Raymond was older than I was and a boy so I expected him to be dominating since I was a younger girl cousin. He was not. I have very found memories of him as a kind, fun and caring cousin. So sorry for the loss of Raymond in this world. I have a soft spot for him in my heart because he was good to me in our childhood. Rest in peace, Raymond, you were one of the "good" gems in this world. God bless your loved ones.

My condolences to the entire Gulczynski family. I knew Ray from Marymount, and remember him as a likeable and loyal friend. May the Good Lord bless and keep Ray and help his family through this difficult time.
