Rita Mecca, 89, of Pocono Lake, formerly of Moosic, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born in Pittston Township, she was the daughter of the late Santino and Maria Mancini Ferretti. She was a graduate of Pittston Township High School. Rita worked for many years at the Lackawanna County Courthouse in data processing.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, Anthony Mecca; daughters: Roselle Ansilio (Tom), Pocono Lake; and Maria Gaon (Joseph Singer), Los Angeles; grandsons: Thomas Ansilio, Miami; Grant Gaon, Los Angeles; and Zachery Gaon, Los Angeles.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, followed by a blessing service at Adonizio Funeral Home LLC, 251 William St., Pittston.
