Ronald Fink Obituary

MOUNTAIN TOP — Ronald E. Fink Jr., 66, of Mountain Top, passed away at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Jan. 8, 2014. Ron was a gentle but strong loving husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, and will be sadly missed by all.

Ron was a graduate of Dallas Senior High School, Dallas, class of 1965, and continued a technical education program at Williamsport Community College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as an aircraft mechanic from 1965 to 1969.

Ron loved all kinds of motor sports, but his passion was dirt late-model racing, which he loved being involved with and had spent many of his precious years helping his friends with their race cars.

Ron was employed as both general manager and retail sales associate during his 24 years with Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc., at the Moosic location and, more recently, the Berwick location.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ronald E. Fink Sr., Shavertown.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy (Worman) Fink, Mountain Top; his mother, Alice (Ertley) Fink, Shavertown; sister, Linda (Fink) Kroll, and her husband, Douglas, and their two daughters, Jessica and Kristine, Glenside; mother-in-law, Betty Worman, formerly of Mountain Top; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Arthur Matash, Nescopeck; Betty and Charles Wark, Berwick; John Worman Jr., Nescopeck; nieces, Brenda (Matash) Corrado and her husband, Ronald; Carina Wark; nephew, Matthew Matash; along with cousins and friends.

At this time, the family also expresses their heartfelt gratitude to all of the physicians, nurses and staff in the Adult Intensive Care Unit, 4 West section, of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for their loving and compassionate care of our beloved Ron.

Funeral will be at 10:15 a.m. Monday from the Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., state Route 309, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Mountain Top, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Centennial Campaign Geisinger Foundation for Stroke Research, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.
