Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Steven J. Bucholtz, 61, passed peacefully at home Wednesday, April 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, Christine, devoted children and beautiful grandchildren.
Born Nov. 30, 1963, in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Frank and Barbara (Broody) Bucholtz, Steven was the owner/operator of Steves Used Tires in Kingston and Plymouth.
Steven, who friends and family referred to as "Buck," met the love of his life, Christine, in 1981 and they married two years later. Buck and Chrissy had 44 wonderful years together, and are the proud parents of six amazing children, and doting grandparents to 10 beautiful grandchildren.
When Buck wasn't slinging tires, he could be found relaxing on Sundays with family, having a cold Labatt's Blue Light and listening to the 70s. If he wasn't relaxing, you might find him surfing the web looking for decorations for his favorite holiday, Halloween.
Buck was a driven man who found no greater purpose than providing love and comfort for his family. Nothing gave him greater joy than the family vacations to fish Bennett's Lake in Canada, or hunting the great outdoors with his sons and grandson. Buck was an avid bowler and could be found at Chacko's bowling every Friday night. In his younger days, Buck was an exceptional wrestler and even joined a softball league.
Buck's last few weeks with family were spent reminiscing about some of his favorite memories, including a romantic trip to Jamaica with his beautiful wife, where he fondly remembered sitting under a waterfall together with Christine.
Prior to his illness, Buck was fortunate to spend seven wonderful days traveling cross country with his son. It was a great wish of Buck's to repeat that adventure with his wife and entire family.
His brother, Frank J. Bucholtz Jr.; and sister, Nora Broody, preceded Steven in death.
Steven is survived by his wife, the former Christine Skoloda; sons, Steven S. Bucholtz; Frank Bucholtz; Brandon Bucholtz and wife, Nadine; daughters, Kristine Bucholtz; Brittany Bucholtz and fiancé, Michael Ferris; Lauren Deitrick and husband, Gaige; grandchildren, Steven, Carson, Ariella, Natalie, Brandon, Liam, Audrianna, Sophia, Michael and Braxtyn; brothers, Kevin Bucholtz; Peter Bucholtz and wife, Liz; Walter Rasmovicz; and Adolf Rasmovicz; sister, Barbara Ann Chalawich and husband, Butch; dear friend, Joey Pardini; and many others.
Steven's best companions, Big Mama Cora, Scaredy, Mama kitty and Zoey crossed the rainbow bridge and await him at heaven's gates.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Annunciation Cemetery, Pringle. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

I had known you for almost my whole life. I was there when you and Chrissy were married. You always were a hard working man taking care of your family. You and Chrissy always were the best couple who truly loved one another. I know you are at peace awaiting the resurrection when Jehovah rids this world of evil. You will be awakened to a paradise earth and all your hard work will recognized. Love you my dear friend. And love to your family
