MOUNTAIN TOP — Theresa Gawet, 93, of Mountain Top, formerly of Alden, died Sunday. Family & friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.

Sandi, Kim, and family, I was very sorry to hear of Cioci Theresa. It has been many years but there has never been a single time that I have taken the Nuangola exit off 81, come down Alden Mtn Road, and not revisit my childhood when I pass the road going up that little hill on the right leading to where I enjoyed playing games and visiting Cioci Theresa. I even remember the trip to Sunbury with Uncle Eddie in his tractor trailer. Those memories will never be forgotten. Our sincerest condolences and may peace be with you and your family.
