I met Tom when he was visiting the Catawissa Lumber plant in West Jefferson, NC. He and I hit off right away. We went exploring the mountain roads in North Carolina together, having no map and praying we found our way back. Fortunately, we made it back and were not abducted by the natives that lived up in those mountains. Tom was a gentle giant with a healthy appetite. We had dinner together a few times and I can attest that giants eat more than normal humans. Tom was always upbeat and smiling. Just a great human being. I was just talking about him to someone on July 4th, not knowing he had passed. How strange. I hadn't seen him since those days in North Carolina. I am saddened that I didn't. I know that God has accepted this kind soul into Heaven and he watches over us now. God bless you, Tom. I'll see you on the other side one day!

Tom was always so happy and kind to everyone. He was always willing to help at camps, in the church kitchen and pot lucks. We will miss him.
