I met Tom when he was visiting the Catawissa Lumber plant in West Jefferson, NC. He and I hit off right away. We went exploring the mountain roads in North Carolina together, having no map and praying we found our way back. Fortunately, we made it back and were not abducted by the natives that lived up in those mountains. Tom was a gentle giant with a healthy appetite.
