PITTSTON — Thomas J. Cook, 70, of Pittston, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Township.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on Aug. 1, 1952, he was a son of the late Joseph and Ruth (Ritts) Cook.
Thomas graduated from G.A.R Memorial High School, and later worked in security for most of his career. He was of the Catholic faith.
He was an avid car enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time with his family going bowling, playing darts, and shooting pool. Thomas was affectionately known as "Red" from the color of his hair, a nickname given to him by his late wife.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agratha "Joyce" (Strobel) Brown; and sisters: Kathleen (Cook) Barnett and Dorothy (Cook) Andrejewski.
Left to cherish his memory are son, Thomas J. Cook, Jr. and significant other, Dahiana Turbides; brother, Joseph Cook and wife, Kim; niece, Kimberly Hickok and husband, Wayne Rector, and their children, Kerry Hickok and Wayne Rector III; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Private services for the family were entrusted to Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services.
