Thomas Newman Obituary

Thomas F. Newman, 75, of St. Lawrence, Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010, in the Reading Hospital. His wife, Beatrice L. (Ell) Newman, survives him. Mr. Newman was born in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Frederick and Martha Sneaden Newman. He was a pressman for the Reading Eagle for many years until retiring. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Barry Jon Newman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Thomas C. and his wife, Jan, of Chester County; Paul H., of St. Lawrence; and Jeffrey F., of Havertown, Pa.; grandsons Benjamin, Austin and Jacob; brother Frederick and his wife, Helen Newman, of Strongsville, Ohio, and his sister, Lois, and her husband, Richard Schwartz, of Reiffton. Services for Mr. Newman will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Lutz Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reiffton. Friends may call of Wednesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League, P.O.
