PLYMOUTH — Thomas E. Wright, 87, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Allied South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Born Oct. 16, 1936, in Plymouth, he was the son of the late Millard and Gladys Stubblebine Wright.
Mr. Wright was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1954, where he competed on the wrestling team. He was a member of Franklin Street Primitive Methodist Church, Plymouth, for many years. After his high school graduation, Mr. Wright served in the United States Air Force, where he worked with radar systems, before honorable discharge in 1961.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by UGI Electric Division for nearly 30 years, and previously at PSE & G power generation plant in New Jersey.
In addition to enjoying his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was a fan of football and wrestling at WVW and Penn State. He achieved past master of the Free and Accepted Masons in 1970, with the Masonic Lodge, Bayonne, N.J., and later was a member of the Shriners, volunteering many years supporting the Shriners Circus fundraiser.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Kobusky, Mary DeCerb, and Gladys Rish.
Surviving are his loving wife of 68 years, Alma Allabaugh Wright; and his loving children, son, Thomas M. Wright, Plymouth, Pa.; and daughterss Mary Thomas and her husband, Kevin, of Larksville, Pa.; and Lynn Dretzel and her husband, Joseph, of Stillwater, Pa.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Mr. Wright's wishes, there will be no services, as his wish is to be remembered as he was in life.
