Marlene Yedinak Obituary

Marlene A. Yedinak, a resident of Fishkill, New York, for almost 40 years, died at home on Feb. 5, 2026.

Born in Plymouth, Marlene was the daughter of the late Helen and Stephen Batory of Dallas. She attended Gate of Heaven Church and School in Dallas and graduated from Central Catholic High School (now Good Shepherd Academy) in Kingston, Class of 1961.

In 1965, Marlene married Joseph F. Yedinak of Swoyersville, who was also a graduate of the Class of 1961. Due to his career in retail, they lived in seven states and traveled extensively before returning to the Northeast in 1987. The couple has 3 children, Joe Jr. of Fishkill, N.Y.; Linda (Yedinak) Davies, married to Kent J. Davies of Boston, Mass.; and James Yedinak, married to Marguarite Carmody-Yedinak of Ridgewood, N.J. The couple has 6 grandchildren.

Marlene worked as an administrative assistant to Patent Attorneys in the Intellectual Property Law Department of IBM in Fishkill, N.Y. After 10 years, she retired to devote herself full-time to her grandchildren and to pursue her love of vegetable gardening and other interests.

Marlene is survived by her 3 children and her sister, Lorraine, Mrs. Philip Novicki of Wyoming, and a brother, Stephen Batory of Dallas.

Interment will be in Fishkill Rural Cemetery in Fishkill, N.Y.
