HARVEYS LAKE — Willard A. Welch, 91, of Harveys Lake, formerly of Hanover Township, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born in Hanover Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Alva (Davis) Welch. Willard was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Korean conflict.
Willard was a graduate of Hanover Township High School and, prior to retirement, was employed by InterMetro Industries.
In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Jean; and brothers: Charles, Clark and Wilbur.
Surviving are his children: Jeff (Sandra), Ellicott City, Md.; Scott (Deana), Macungie, Pa.; and Tamara (David), Dallas; his beloved grandchildren: David, Dalton, Katrina and Sophia; and sister and brother-in-law, Maryann and Frank Keller.
Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Wilkes-Barre VA Hospital, and the entire staff at the Highland Park Senior Living — you all provided extraordinary care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of family in accordance with his wishes.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
