James was born in Hudson, Michigan on June 17, 1946. His sister called him "Jimmy" but he was know as Jim to everyone else. He moved with his family to Southern California when he was very young. He married Barbara Farrar on November 13, 1971 in Norwalk, CA. He and his wife relocated to the San Diego area where they raised their three sons. He was employed with BDS Engineering for forty years. When he retired in 2015 he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Queen Creek, AZ. Never wanting to be idle, he found part-time employment at Sunrise Engineering. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren.
