Charles Poliak Obituary

Charles D. Poliak
New Sewickley Twp. -Charles D. Poliak, 74, of New Sewickley Twp., was summoned to the Lord's Kingdom on May 3, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. Born October 28, 1946, in Rochester, he was son of the late John and Clara Marian (McCandless) Poliak. He was very proud and honored to be the head drummer for the class of 1964 at Monaca High School. In his free time, he was the lead singer and drummer for many groups, most recently the Chazz Trio. He loved to coach the Freedom/New Sewickley Twp. Youth Baseball teams, and play softball on church teams, however, he got the most enjoyment out of raising his kids, and later spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was always cracking a joke or making someone smile.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Poliak; a grandson, Nikkolas Poliak, and a cousin, Carol (Frederick) Skrlac, who was like a sister to him.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Linda (Measel) Poliak of New Sewickley Twp.; a son, John M. Poliak, Chippewa; a daughter and son in law, Cheri and Brian Bionda, New Sewickley Twp.; and his son Bryan's former fiancée Amber Torreance, Crescent Twp.; six grandchildren also survive, Brandon Bionda, Neville Island, Brittany Bionda and her fiancée, Justin Lentz, North Sewickley Twp., Camryn Poliak, Crescent Twp., Taylor Poliak, New Sewickley Twp., and Josh Steder and Jeremy Steder, as well as many loving cousins and friends.
Friends will be received Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the WILLIAM MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 349 Adams Street, Rochester, where a service will be held Friday at 11 am, Officiating will be Robert Hale, minister. With the Covid 19 concerns, masks and social distancing are required. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Freedom.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amber from Concordia Visiting Nurses, special friends Lisa Glies and Dave Boehm, and Dr. Christopher Gehrlein of Rochester Manor for his compassion, as well as the caring nurses at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
