Joe Bagalini Obituary
Joe Bagalini
Joe Bagalini was born in Aliquippa, PA on April 21, 1930 to Annunziata (Nancy) Morelini (12/28/1895 - 3/3/1964) and Maurilio Bagalini (12/16/1882 - 9/4/1977), both from Italy.
Joe was a WWII and Korean War veteran who served in the Far East. He lied about his age so that he could enlist in the army, so some records show he was born in 1929. He loved America and would talk with pride about how he fought for our freedom.
Joe was a man of deep faith in the Lord. He prayed daily and had a personal relationship with God. Joe felt that it was God that allowed him to keep living after the many brushes with death he had in life due to his work and his frequent heart problems.
Joe had been a State Trooper for 10 years in Pennsylvania and later became a union boiler maker at Jones and Laughlin until this was no longer needed. He then started his own plumbing business which continued until his death. He was so well loved and respected for his skill that he eventually did not take on new customers and was kept busy servicing repeat customers. He never did retire and worked up until his death. He did not want to stop as he wanted to keep busy and to help people when he could since he often didn't collect for the work he did.
Joe married the love of his life, Elaine Macio Bagalini, on May 12, 1974. They were soulmates and did everything together, with "Laney" even helping Joe on jobsites. Elaine passed away on February 23, 2013, leaving Joe with an emptiness in his heart the rest of his life.
He and his wife "Laney" loved to go to the horse races and were pretty good at picking winninghorses. They loved all animals and always had a dog and a cat or two around. Joe and Laneyloved birds, too, and Joe always put out bread in their back yard for the birds to eat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an older sister who died at birth, and his beloved wife Laney.
He is survived by his sister-in-laws Donna Tyler of OR. and Patricia Finie of CA. and theirrespective husbands Hugh and Peter as well as his brother-in-law, Warner Macio and his familyof Monaca.
Joe was a good person, trustworthy with old fashioned values and will be missed by family and friends but we know he is happy to be with Laney again.
Arrangements were made with ANTHONY MASTROFRANCESCO FUNERAL HOME INC. 2026 McMinn Street Aliquippa PA 15001 (724)-375-0496. All events were held privately. Interment will take place at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies where he will spend eternity next to his wife.
