Mark Leskanic Obituary
Mark Andrew Leskanic, 61, of Chippewa, passed away on April 18, 2021, unexpectedly at home.
Born on November 5, 1959, in Homestead, PA, Mark worked as a Superintendent at Deer Trails Country Club, Turkana Golf Course, and Seven Oaks and retired after 35+ years of service. After retirement he enjoyed camping in Linesville, PA (Shady Acres) with his family. He was known as an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing, where he enjoyed this time with his sons. He also was a member of the Highland Vets Club. Mark will be remembered for his selflessness, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew A. Leskanic Jr. & Margaret Ann (Hasak) Leskanic. Also preceding him in death, were his father-in-law Bernard Zlatovich; sister-in-law Sherry Zlatovich; a brother-in-law, John A Lake; nieces Rachael Straub; and Mallory Little.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 40 years, Gloria Leskanic: his two sons and daughter-in-laws; Mark (Ashley) Leskanic, Sean (Ashley) Leskanic, his two dearest granddaughters Kyra and Kaylinn and a third grandbaby that he was anxiously awaiting their arrival. He also leaves behind brothers Andrew (Susan) Leskanic, David (Jane) Leskanic, Richard A. Leskanic, and a sister Barbara (Jim) Shanahan. Mother-in-law Sharlie Zlatovich; Sister-in-laws Eleanor (David) Little, Julie Lake, Kari (Joseph) Goss. Nieces and nephews; Erica (Josh) Van Berkum, Jenny Reeger, Chad Stranko, Pamela (Lou) Bowser, Donny (Megan)Leskanic, Richard Atwood, Kirstin Atwood, Katelyn Atwood, Richard Straub, Bethany Straub, Adison Goss, Emslie Goss, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the New Salem Presbyterian Church, 348 Salem Church Road, Midland, PA 15059, on Saturday April 24, 2021 from 10:30 am until time of service at 2:00pm, with his pastor, Reverend Jeffrey Marquis officiating. This service is to be casual, family asks that you wear your black and gold.
Private interment will take place at Highland Cemetery.
