Paul J. Kuniewicz
Ambridge - Paul J. Kuniewicz, of Ambridge, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 in Concordia of Cranberry at 99 years young. He was born on March 31, 1922 in Ambridge, PA to the late Peter and Katherine (Durkolec) Kuniewicz. He was a long time and faithful member of St. Vladimir Ukranian Orthodox Church, Ambridge. Paul enjoyed a long career as a foreman of the boiler operators at the Phillips Power Station of Duquesne Light. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during World War II. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, Mary ( Simko) Kuniewicz on March 20, 2014, two brothers, John and Edward Kuniewicz and two sisters, Jane Sinutka and Helen Bachor. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Bill) Orlowski of Economy, a son, Allen (Suzanne) Kimble of Seven Fields, six grandchildren, Carolyn Graham, Kathleen (Jon) Gass, Michelle (John) Sovich, Allyson (John) Allen, Marsha (Joe) Geweth, and Amy (Bob) Kalkowski, 15 great-grandchildren, a sister, Virginia Haitz of Maple Shade, NJ, a brother, Richard (Mary Ellen) Kuniewicz of Baden and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday from 3 PM until time of Parastas services at 6:30 PM in the John Syka Funeral Home, Inc. 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. Translation of the body will follow at 7 PM to St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Family and close friends will gather Tuesday at 9:30 AM at the church where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM by his pastor, Father Michael Kochis.
Interment will follow at 11:15 AM in Economy Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by the Beaver County Special Unit and the US Army. In lieu of flowers, Paul's wishes were for memorial contributions to be made in his memory to the St. Vladimir Parish Endowment Fund, 323 Ninth Street, Ambridge, PA 15003.
