Jerry Wayne Kemp, 79, of Burkburnett, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2018.

The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at The Lighthouse Church in Burkburnett with Rev. Bobby Scott and Rev. Duane Perkinson, officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

Jerry was born on December 13, 1938 in Randlett, Oklahoma to the late Glenn and Gladys (Branson) Kemp. He proudly served in the United States Army. On January 10, 1959 he married Norma Slack. He married the love of his life, Norma, and the couple were married for 59 years. Jerry loved watching the National Finals Rodeo and enjoyed the country life. Jerry worked in the car business for over 45 years. He served on the Burkburnett Volunteer Fire Department for over 15 years, was an auctioneer for many years, and attended The Lighthouse Church. His passion in life was his grandchildren. Jerry never met a stranger and was a true family man.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Lynn Kemp; and his grandson, Kyle David Kemp.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Kemp; his son, Kirk Kemp; his daughter, Kelli Patterson and husband Mark all of Burkburnett; his granddaughters, Kayla Kemp of Burkburnett, Karcynn Kemp of Wichita Falls, and Konner Kemp of Quanah; and his great-grandson, Kyle Wayne Greene of Burkburnett.
