Carissa Sampsel Obituary
(Pedrotty) Sampsel
35, of Beach City, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 following an accident at her home. She was born in Canton on May 5, 1978 to Philip and Judy (Hodgson) Pedrotty and married Dennis L. Sampsel III on July 1, 1999. He survives. She was a graduate of the Tuscarawas Branch of Kent State University School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse in the emergency department of Summa Wadsworth-Rittman Hospital. She previously had worked at Massillon Community Hospital and Barberton Citizens Hospital.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents of Beach City; her children, Adrian and Sydney Sampsel of the home; and her grandmother, Marilyn Hodgson of Brewster Parke.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Fohl Memorial United Methodist Church, 121 Basin Street, Navarre, with Rev. Karen Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in the South Lawn Cemetery in Beach City. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Spidell Funeral Home, 209 Chestnut Street, NW, Brewster. A memorial website has been created by the funeral home and may be accessed at
www.spidellfuneralhome.com where you may share a memory or sign the guestbook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to a scholarship fund for her children's education or to the Burn Unit of Akron Children's Hospital Foundation, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Carissa . She was a wonderfully energetic and positive person. I had the pleasure of knowing her at MCH while she completed her education. She always had a smile on her face and the strength of spirit to get through whatever the day brought. Our paths again crossed at BCH where she grew professionally. She was an awesome nurse. I worked with Carissa at MCH, and my memories of her are the fact she always had a smile on her face, she was always the most pleasant person, and so kind, and I always remember how family oriented she was, and how much she loved her family...I was so sad to her of her passing!
