JANET ABBUHL Obituary

Janet Lee "Mamaw" Abbuhl

age 85, of Uhrichsville, passed away March 23, 2018, at Park Village South in New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health. The daughter of the late Henry M. and Fern H. (Baker) Pittis, Janet was born May 27, 1932 in Dennison, O. She was employed as a library aide at Claymont City Schools for 31 years until her retirement in June 1999. Janet was a member of Park Christian Church. She loved spending time with her friends of the Classy Classmates, playing cards with her friends, watching sports and fixing dinner every Sunday for her family. In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Nile Abbuhl, who passed away April 7, 1996; and siblings, Robert Pittis and Katherine Cloyes.

Janet is survived by her children: Betsy (Jack) Homman of New Philadelphia, Ed (Nancy) Abbuhl, Kelly (Lisa) Abbuhl, Kim (Patti Jayne) Abbuhl and Chris (Pam) Abbuhl all of Uhrichsville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Janet will be held at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Park Christian Church in Dennison, with the Pastor Scot Caley officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 (two hours prior to services) on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Park Christian Church, 236 Miller Ave. or Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. S.W.., New Philadelphia, O., 44663.
