Jeanne C. Graef
89, of Bolivar and formerly of Dover died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 died peacefully with her family at her side in Union Hospital at Dover. Jeanne was born March 28, 1924 in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Roxy and Della (Deihl) Wetzel. Jeanne and her late husband, Harry loved antiques and owned and operated Antique Emporium in Bolivar for several years. She was also the president of Empire Realty and Development Company in Bolivar. Jeanne was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ at Dover. She was active in many organizations including the Tuscarawas County Genealogy Society, First Families of Ohio, Past President of the Tuscarawas County Homemakers, and Past President of the Dover Garden Club. She was also a former swimming instructor at the Tuscarawas County YMCA. She was also a longtime volunteer in Zoar where she spun, quilted and cooked. She enjoyed teaching her grandchildren old games and appreciated her many close friends that she remained in contact with her whole life. She kept up with them on Facebook and Pinterest. She was a 1942 graduate of Canton Lehman High School and its alumni association. She was also a graduate of Canton Business College.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Harry J. Graef who died Aug. 24, 1996.
She will be sadly missed by her family including her two sons, H. Thomas Graef of Bolivar and Jon (Judy) Graef of Zoar; three grandchildren Jamie Chase of Tacoma, Wash. and Jon G. Graef of Seattle, Wash. and Mischa Shane Graef of Bolivar; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Chase and Rachel Graef.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. in the St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover with Pastor Dotty Hartzell officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Friday from noon until 2 p.m. Those unable to attend or who may wish to express a fond memory of Jeanne may sign the online guestbook by visiting the "obituaries and flowers" link on the funeral home website at www.tolandherzig.com In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society, 307 N. Tom, Jon and Families, I send sincere sympathy to you in the loss of your Mom. I enjoyed many good days with her when she was a volunteer at Zoar. We worked together in the kitchen during the Zoar Project making soup, kraut and baked apples for the Tusky Valley 5th graders. We had great conversations during those days; she was a lovely lady. God Bless all of you.

Jeanne was a beautiful lady both inside and out. I feel privileged to have known and learned from her during our Zoar days with the Ohio Historical Society and I am thankful for that opportunity. She was a top notch special lady and she will be missed.
