Jeffrey Wayne Malterer 1960-2018

58, of Tippecanoe, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Canton on July 24, 2018, after a brief illness. Born February 22, 1960 in Dennison, he was a son of the Rev. Larry Wayne Malterer of Uhrichsville and the late Virginia Louise "Ginny" (Hyde) Malterer. Jeff was a resident of Tuscarawas County throughout his life, a 1978 graduate of Indian Valley North High School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Uhrichsville. His 40 year career with Haddad and Brooks began in field positions and moved into the position of Production Manager in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. In his spare time, he loved outdoor pursuits which included gardening (and canning the fruits of his garden), hunting and fishing, having recently caught his largest Smallmouth Bass at 5 lbs. 3 oz. He also enjoyed restoring classic cars.

On March 2, 1990, he married the former Penny Sue White who survives him. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by a daughter, Sarah E. (Ken) Tignor; son, Ian M. (fiancée, Jocelyn Miller) Malterer; an expected grandchild; and his dear canine companion, Harley.

In keeping with Jeff's wishes, cremation is planned. His family will receive callers from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at the Grace United Methodist Church Social Hall in Uhrichsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
