Jeremy Fisher Obituary

Jeremy Charles Fisher
26, of New Philadelphia, if he could speak today, would say that the devastating effects of drug addiction finally beat him, despite his efforts to overcome. He passed away as a result of losing that battle on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012. Born in Aultman Hospital at Canton on June 20, 1986, he was the son of Cynthia Ann (Berisford) and Richard A. Jenkins and the late Gary Charles Fisher. After completing his education at New Philadelphia High School and graduating from Buckeye Career Center, he continued his formal education at Kent State University where he obtained his Associates Degree in Computer Technology. Jeremy continued to further his education obtaining multiple Microsoft certifications. He has worked at a variety of companies serving as a "contracted computer geek". When Jeremy crossed a threshold, he filled up a room with his loud voice and unique energy. Jeremy was a ball of fire and a force to be reckoned with. He was never satisfied to blend into the background. From a very early age, Jeremy was participating in baseball, soccer, roller blading, and skate boarding. He enthusiastically played drums in several punk rock bands. He was an avid Columbus Blue Jackets fan. Anyone who spent much time with Jeremy walked away wondering which was louder, the drum set or Jeremy! One of a kind, Jeremy marched to his own beat.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Cynthia (Gary) Jenkins of New Philadelphia; his brothers, Michael R. and Nathan D. Fisher, both of New Philadelphia, and Matthew T. (Brooke) Fisher and their son, Colt, of Japan; his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Maxine Berisford of Moundsville, W.Va.; step-brothers, Matthew and Aaron Jenkins, both of New Philadelphia; step-sister, Keri (Duke) Dailey of Nashport, Ohio.; step-grandma, Rhoda Jenkins of New Philadelphia; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Jeremy's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m. with Randy Chapman officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Jeremy's memory may be directed to Pathway to Wellness Recovery Center, PO Box 572, Dover, OH 44622.
Those wishing to do so may send the family personal condolences or light a candle in Jeremy's memory by visiting her permanent memorial located on the funeral home's website.

Oh how I despise the deadly disease that took this guy way too soon. His story needs to be told and retold, so that an addict might be saved. I pray for peace for everyone who knew you Jeremy. And your fight is over... but as long as we share your story, it wasn't for nothing....much love to Mike, Jamie n Families..

Jeremy,

I will always remember you from the first time you moved to Dover from Dayton in 4th grade. "Dayton, Dayton representing Skatin" You always knew how to have a good time and make people laugh. You left to a place we all have to go, you just left way too soon. You will be remembered, you will be missed.
