Jonas A. Troyer
85, of Mt. Hope, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 at his home following an extended battle with Parkinson Disease. He was a lifelong Holmes County resident and was born on Feb. 17, 1930 to the late Abe M. and Lovina (Beachy) Troyer and married Fannie Coblentz on March 25, 1954. She died on Aug. 21, 2013. He retired from Wayne Dalton following 39 years of service. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He is survived by children, Ruth (Daniel) Hochstetler of Dundee, David (Esther) Troyer of Dundee, James (Miriam) Troyer of Beach City, Naomi (Jacob) Miller, Jr. of Dundee and Daniel (Wilma) Troyer of the home; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Miller of Millersburg; and a brother, Abe (Esther) Troyer Jr. of Sugarcreek. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ura; a sister and three infant brothers; and a brother-in-law, Eli A. Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. at the Marty Yoder residence, 8000 State Route 241, Mt. Hope, with Bishop Daniel Shetler officiating. Burial will follow in the Yoder Cemetery, Salt Creek Township, Holmes County. Friends may call anytime at the Marty Yoder residence. Spidell Funeral Home in Mt. Eaton is handling the arrangements.
