Laura Kerns Obituary

Laura Lee Kerns
age 79, of Sherrodsville, passed away peacefully early Friday evening, March 15, 2013, in the care of the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia, where, just two days prior she had received the promise of eternal life through baptism in Jesus name.
Born at Dover, Feb. 22, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Edward S. and Lucille Johnson Gerber.
Laura attended Dover High School before going to work as a nurses aid in Union Hospital and later Aultman Hospital. She also worked for several years at Snyder Manufacturing before retiring as an office manager for Star Oil Field Construction. Laura will be remembered for her love of wildlife and for her enjoyment of golfing and bowling.
Survivors include her former husband, Clyde Eugene Kerns of Sherrodsville, as well as her two daughters; Vicki Kerns of Sherrodsville, and Valli (Lawrence) McDonald of New Philadelphia. Two grandchildren; Angel (Jody) Jones of Newcomerstown and Dustin McDonald of Toledo, and three great-grandchildren; Quinton, Jeremiah and Alana Jones also survive. A sister, Ann (Jerry) Pool of Punta Gorda, Fla, completes the family.
